Chemical peels

Chemical peels used to treat wrinkles, acne scars and pigmentation mainly on face. A cotton gauze or brush is used to apply , for example, glycolic acid after degreasing the skin. It is kept for 3-5 minutes. When skin whitens, you may feel slight burning sensation. When adequate time has passed the chemical solution is cleaned or a neutraliser is applied. A chemical peel is like advanced facial and normally does not visible peeling off layers of skin. Yellow peels may lead to shedding of skin.

ND YAG laser

It has wavelength of 532 and 1064 and is used in the treatment of pigmentation and melasma, nevus of ota and tattoos. Laser energy is absorbed by melanin leading to decrease in melanin and reduction in pigmentation. In dark skin patients it may lead to hyperpigmentation, if due precautions are not taken.

Microneedling

Microneedling in principle damages tiny parts of skin leading to response in the form of laying down of collagen and release of growth factors. It is used in the treatment of hair loss, acne scars, wrinkles, and for improved drug delivery. It can be carried out with derma roller, RF microneedling and automated dermapens.
